The Raptor Foundation
About us
We are a small charity whose aims have always been to rescue, rehabilitate and return injured birds of prey back to the wild, and to protect and preserve them through education and conservation. On site, we have approximately 180 raptors, and a number of reptiles, most of which have been rescued through various channels.
The centre's on-site hospital is equipped to deal with the many birds that are admitted. The hospital is run by staff trained in emergency aid and after care, with a specialist avian vet on call when needed. Our hospital also deals with issues arising from the resident animals.
In order to compensate for our loss of income during lockdown, we have been fundraising through various avenues, including a Go Fund Me account which has (to date) raised approximately £10,000. Some of this will go towards our renovation programme, but it will be necessary to use some of the money raised to support running costs whilst the foundation recovers financially.
