About us
At Mami Chelo Foundation, we are on the frontlines of compassion and justice, fighting for those who are too often silenced, detained, or deported without due process. Rooted in the spirit of service and human dignity, our work empowers asylum seekers, immigrant families, and people impacted by detention and deportation with direct support, advocacy, and long-term care.
In a time when immigration policies grow more cruel and dehumanizing by the day, and human rights violations continue unchecked in detention centers across the country, the need for our work has never been more urgent. What We Do:
We accompany asylum seekers through every step of their journey, offering resources for housing, food, legal support, and trauma-informed care.
We fight family separation, providing emergency response and post-release support for those unjustly detained by ICE.
We offer healing spaces, organize for systemic change, and stand with those most at risk of violence and displacement. Why Support Us Now:
Immigrants are facing an escalating crisis: increased raids, indefinite detentions, family separations, and racist policies that criminalize migration. Many are fleeing war, persecution, or gender-based violence and arrive here only to be caged, forgotten, or denied their rights.
Mami Chelo steps in where systems fail—providing not just charity, but solidarity.
Your support allows us to continue this life-saving, justice-rooted work. Every dollar goes toward lifting someone out of fear and into hope. Every action you take alongside us pushes back against hate and moves us closer to a world where every life is treated with dignity.
Together, we are building a community of care, resistance, and transformation. Stand with us.Mami Chelo Foundation — Because No One Should Be Left Behind.
