Founded in 1989, The Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC) is a leading nonprofit organization that supports and empowers adults, youth, and children to lead safe and healthy lives based on dignity, compassion, and mutual respect. We are committed to ending gender-based violence by reducing the barriers to essential services experienced by the New York metropolitan area’s Korean/Asian immigrant community. Our critical prevention and intervention services include a 24-hour bilingual crisis hotline, professional mental health counseling, legal and social service advocacy, job training, housing assistance, and child and youth programs. All of our services are offered in a culturally and linguistically appropriate context to adequately and attentively serve members of our community. Staying true to our commitment to serving our community, KAFSC stayed in full operation throughout the unprecedented COVID-19 public health and economic crisis, successfully pivoting our services and outreach to lend a hand to those who are experiencing economic insecurity and domestic violence like never before. Especially at a time like now, when the AAPI community must stand together and mobilize, a donation to KAFSC is a pledge to end the cycle of violence for our beloved community to ensure safety and happiness for all.
