IAPAC coordinates a 300+ network of cities and municipalities around the world - Fast-Track Cities - that are accelerating their local responses to HIV, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis. We collaborate with Fast-Track Cities in generating urban health data, providing technical assistance to health departments, empowering affected communities to increase their health literacy, building capacity among clinical and service providers to deliver non-stigmatizing quality care, sharing best/good practices in closing health access gaps, advocating equitable access to health services, and facilitating networking opportunities between Sister Cities. Not surprisingly, Fast-Track Cities are now struggling to manage local COVID-19 epidemics. IAPAC has expanded the Fast-Track Cities portfolio to provide the above-referenced activities within the context of COVID-19, but this value-added public health service is an unfunded mandate for IAPAC and our Fast-Track Cities implementing partners.
