The mission of The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges (The Center) is to provide opportunities for people with physical challenges to enhance the quality of their lives. The Center achieves its mission through programs, services and opportunities that promote physical and mental wellness, independence, inclusivity and rehabilitation for its members, their families and their caregivers. The Center serves youth and adults aged 6-years-old to end-of-life who live with physical challenges, including cerebral palsy, hearing impairments, hip replacements, knee replacements, limb amputations, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, seizure disorders, spina bifida, spinal cord injuries, stroke complications, traumatic brain injuries and visual impairments. The Center is not a day program. Members come and go as they please and attend the programs and services in which they are most interested to meet their individual needs and goals. The only adaptive recreational facility in Oklahoma, The Center provides a safe and accessible space where members can work to maintain or improve their physical, cognitive and mental wellness, engage in healthy socialization and increase independence through a wide variety of programs and services. Opportunities offered include Rehabilitative Fitness, Adaptive Recreation, Transition Services, Youth Programming, Adaptive Sport, Community Outings and Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services.
