About us

The Bubble Foundation supports the work of the Childrens Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit at the Great North Childrens Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is one of only two specialised centres in the British Isles that gives babies and children suffering from Primary Immunodeficiecies and cancer the chance of life. The unit has a national remit to treat children referred from the Midlands to Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with a net work of clinics in Edinburgh, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Carlisle and Teeside. We do this by providing funds for life changing medical research, medical equipment, toys and educational equipment and parent and family support. In 1992 when the Bubble Foundation was founded 6 out of babies died. Now with all the focussed research we have done 9 out of 10 babies SURVIVE and go on to lead a normal healthy life. With your help our aim is that every child that arrives on the unit should do the same...the need continues...
