About us
The Tasmanian Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (TARS for short!) was opened in September 2020 with the goal of making itself obsolete. We aim to reduce and prevent unnecessary animal abandonment, through improved community education, and promoting improved accessibility to resources, vet care, housing and training.
We also aim to give every animal in need a chance to be rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed to loving forever families.
TARS takes in all kinds of domestic animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, ferrets, birds, chickens, ducks, turkeys, horses, farm animals, even fish and hermit crabs. Our experienced care team ensures each animal receives the best care during their time with us.
