ADAVIC provides grassroots support, information and resources to the community for anxiety and depression, as well as for related issues such as panic attacks, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and self-esteem problems. ADAVIC offers practical and affordable assistance, often acting as a first point of contact for help-seekers. We encourage self-help and active participation while emphasising the importance of community involvement and connectedness. ADAVIC provides support group in locations around Melbourne and personal support over the phone and on Facebook chat. Importantly, we attempt to bridge the gap between individuals, community services and specialist mental health providers. ADAVIC runs workshops and information sessions for individuals who are dealing with mental health issues, as well as individuals who are wanting to learn more or simply improve their overall well-being. We aim to reduce the sense of isolation, and de-stigmatise these mental health issues by providing relevant information, highlighting options, and reducing barriers to the recovery process where we can. ADAVIC is a small, self-funded, community-based organization, that relies on the help of volunteers. Without peoples generosity and donations we could not continue to provide the support to the community as a whole.
