About us

Since 2012 SCRDA has been fund-raising and building a new and dedicated RDA Centre on the Sunshine Coast. SCRDA started with a bare block of land and no infrastructure. We currently have an international standard outdoor arena, a large indoor arena and a partially built clubhouse. We only have 1 outdoor bathroom. Plans are in place for dedicated indoor bathroom facilities to include disability accessible toilets and shower facilities. SCRDA have applied for grants for the bathroom facilities but have so far been unsuccessful. With dedicated bathroom facilities we can host events including State Championships and fund-raising events such as long lunches at the Centre. Modern facilities are important to our participants with a disability too. Our Centre caters for between 120 and 150 participants in a variety of programs 5 days a week, allowing inclusion, engagement in sport and recreation that would be otherwise be unavailable to them. Our programs are supported by nearly 100 volunteers.
