Marist Alternative Education Limited

About us

Marist is an alternative education provider situated on the North Shore of Auckland, working with vulnerable and at-risk youth aged 14-16. We are partially funded by the Ministry of Education and source the shortfall from generous supporters in the community. We provide a strong educational programme focusing on Literacy and Numeracy NCEA credits and place great importance on the pastoral care of our students. Our goal is for our students to either return to mainstream education, further training courses or full time employment. Funding provides the necessary resources to enable our students to successfully reach their goals, have transport to the Centre each day as well much needed food which they may not have access to at home. Funding also assists in covering the cost of employing staff. We are lucky to have one part-time and two full-time teachers who are passionate about building self-esteem in our students and helping them realise their full potential.
