India’s animal welfare system struggles with a lack of personnel and infrastructure to help suffering stray animals. Recognizing the challenges stray animals face, Ujwala Chintala initiated SAFI to create a sustainable and compassionate environment for these beings. Since its inception, SAFI has grown in scope and impact, reaching significant milestones in animal care and community engagement.
By addressing the root causes of stray animal overpopulation and advocating for humane treatment, SAFI is not only improving the lives of animals but also fostering a compassionate and informed community. Our efforts in rescue, rehabilitation, sterilization, and education are making a tangible difference.
