Special Angels of The Woodlands is an organization dedicated to honoring God and enhancing the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities through a top-quality Day Activity Center. This center focuses on enjoyment and community service. Our values aim to transform how society views and interacts with our members. We envision integrating adults with intellectual disabilities into the broader community, fostering independence, improving social skills, and increasing community engagement for each of our Special Angels. We offer a variety of enjoyable activities at our Center and in the community. Our safe outings include birthday luncheons, library and park visits, gardening, recycling, museum tours, bowling, ceramic crafting, zoo excursions, volunteering, and more. At the Center, the Angels take pleasure in parties, crafts, singing, dancing, educational skill-building, painting, and socializing. Special Angels provides a welcoming environment where clients feel at home. Our services are crucial for our clients and their families, who receive respite while their loved ones are in our care!Without necessary funding for inclusive and enjoyable activities, adults with disabilities would lack a place for daytime engagement and social interaction, hindering their positive contribution to society. Those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) could become isolated at home, missing out on vital activities and social skills, leading to potential mental and physical health issues.
