Sister to Sister 2, Inc. (dba Serenity House Oakland) supports women and children escaping domestic violence and coping with complex trauma such as homelessness, addiction, and incarceration. Founded in 2009 by the late Johnnia Davis, the organization provides trauma-informed, wraparound services that prioritize housing, healing, and long-term stability.

Our Serenity Safe Haven program offers emergency shelter, survivor-led counseling, and assistance in securing permanent housing and employment. We also provide a successful outpatient substance abuse recovery program for women and tailored reentry services for formerly incarcerated women through our Sisters to Reentry initiative.

Through our Serenity Wellness & Business (SWB) program, women gain job readiness, entrepreneurship, and wellness skills to rebuild self-sufficient lives. We serve 150 hot meals weekly, distribute hygiene supplies and essentials to unhoused neighbors, and host monthly community health events that provide screenings, vaccinations, and vital resources--meeting immediate needs while helping women and families move forward.
