Barites Veteran Ranch (BVR) is a veteran-founded and veteran-operated non-profit organization dedicated to combating the challenges faced by military veterans and first responders, particularly Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and the difficult transition back to civilian life. Our mission is to cultivate veterans by showing them how to grow their talents themselves and realize their dream of a healthy future through immersive, hands-on experiences in regenerative agriculture and animal-assisted therapies.

• ​Primary Mission: To assist veterans and their families in laying down burdens and achieving a healthier, happier life through farm-related therapies and skills training.

• ​Target Population: United States military veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), and MST (Military Sexual Trauma), as well as their immediate family members.

• ​Core Philosophy: The ranch uses the therapeutic, calming, and purposeful nature of working with animals and the land to help veterans heal invisible wounds and find a renewed sense of purpose.

Animal-Assisted Therapy Equine Therapy and activities with other livestock (mini-cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, geese).

Vocational/Skills Instruction Lessons on the breeding, raising, and care of livestock; hand-milking; making farm fresh foods and understanding the financial aspects of farm ownership.

Community and Reintegration Provides a space where fellow veterans and their families can come to unwind, blow off steam, and learn together. Will be offering small homes on the property for stays.

Healthy Living Focus Education on how ethically raised, pastured livestock and no-till farming contribute to nutritionally dense food, improving the overall health of veterans.
