About us
We are a spay neuter group for homeless cats. We also run a rescue and adoption center and currently house 100 cats and kittens. We are an established business since 2008 and have spay or neutered over 7000 cats. We average 200 adoptions a year. We also run a Pet Food Bank at our local Union Mission and give out dog and cat food to families in need one time a month. We have a facility with a house, 3 outbuildings, a garage and barn and 3.79 acres. This is owned by Second Chance for Cats, Inc since 2015, and we are always upgrading and making our rescue better for both our felines and our volunteers who help us. We have a decent donor base and we hold several fundraisers throughout the year to bring in extra money as well. In 2024 we spayed and neutered 885 cats which was a record for us. We don't get alot of support from our local veterinary offices so we do a lot of traveling to get spay neuters done. There is great need in this area. This is a depressed area and veterinary spay neuter costs have really jumped. Many people Mercer and McDowell counties of West Virginia cannot pay those fees, including our small non profit.
