As a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, we share in their mission to bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence. Our purpose is to serve women and children impacted by DV by providing shelter and resources.

Saint Martha’s serves the St. Louis region through two core programs: an emergency shelter and our drop-in center. Through the emergency shelter, we provide a safe, undisclosed shelter for victims of DV and their children. Through our drop-in center, we provide support services, individual advocacy, and crisis intervention to victims of DV at a public location where there are no waitlists or appointments required.

We are one of a few nationally accredited DV shelters in the entire state of Missouri, and a United Way Safety Net Agency. Our organization is considered a technical assistance resource for other DV organizations, as well as providing trainings to court personnel, law enforcement, clergy, teachers/faculty, legal staff, and other professionals. We serve on many coordinated community response organizations such as St. Louis City and County DV Councils and the City of St. Louis Fatality Review Board. Our executive director is certified as an expert witness for criminal DV cases in Missouri.
