Saddle Up! is one of Middle Tennessee’s oldest and largest riding centers offering equine-based programs exclusively for children and youth with disabilities. Saddle Up! uses the power of the human-animal bond to empower riders to reach their full potential. We provide more than 200 children and youth ages 2-24 with more than 60 types of documented disabilities with more than 5,500 hours of year-round programming at our ADA, PATH International certified facility. More than 500 dedicated volunteers, with the help of 20 specially trained horses and ponies, give 17,000+ hours of service each year in order to run these mostly volunteer-driven programs. Rider families are charged a reasonable fee for lessons, and every effort is made to ensure that no child in need of services is turned away because of an inability to pay. Due to the pandemic, Saddle Up! was forced to cancel much of our 2020 fundraising events and programming, which lead to a $400,000 shortfall in funding for operating expenses. Support from MyGivingCircle provides funding for the feed and care of our horses, financial support for our riders, and maintenance of our 34-acre farm. Thank you for your consideration!
