The Branch operates an animal centre just outside Accrington (14 kennels ) where it cares for animals rescued by the RSPCA. Our main focus is to support the RSPCA inspectorate with the rehabilitation of cats, dogs that are abused, neglected and abandoned which have had to be taken into RSPCA Branch care.

The work of the animal centre is supplemented by a strong volunteer foster network (cats & dogs). 

The staff and volunteer team are dedicated to giving animals another chance at life and spend hours working with even the most traumatised of animals to establish a positive bond with humans and give an animal a new start in life.

Rebuilding that trust can take months of effort by the team but it is worth it when an animal is matched to a new owner who can meet its needs and provide a future loving home.

We are currently working hard to secure funding to keep the animal centre open in order to continue to help the dogs most in need. These dogs may have challenging behaviours that need the expertise of the trained staff at the centre in order to rehabilitate them and ensure they are able to be successfully fostered or rehomed.
