Monk Botanical Gardens has reached a 20-year milestone of cultivating almost 15 acres of nature spaces that delight, engage, educate and inspire thousands of visitors annually – right here in the heart of north central Wisconsin.

The Gardens has become one of Wausau’s most cherished outdoor destinations, a botanical treasure that offers nature-based activities year-round. We’ve come to be known and loved as Wausau’s Happy Place!
Some of our most beloved programs include:

• The Sprouts Garden Preschool and Summer Camp, outdoor programs kindling a love in nature through experiential learning. 
• Blossom of Lights show highlighting the Gardens treasures through colored lights and activities. 
• Over 5,000 different plants are documented and cared for.
