Founded in 1997, Return to Freedom cares for more than 450 displaced wild horses and burros at our American Wild Horse Sanctuary, while also advocating on the national stage for wild horses still running free on public lands. RTF is built on four pillars—Sanctuary, Advocacy, Education and Conservation. Through these programs, RTF inspires new advocates to join in the protection of our wild equines and shares our vision of a safe future for America's symbols of freedom on the range. To this end, we are also pioneers in the use of minimally-intrusive fertility control, a tool that can replace or greatly reduce government roundups that shatter wild horse families forever. RTF also advocates agains the cruel practice of horse slaughter. We are only here with your help. Thank you for standing up for the Wild Ones.
