Refuge Madawaska in Edmundston
About us
Our first priority is to help abandoned or sick cats and dogs. We take them in, make sure they are healthy, treat them for fleas and deworm them, and if they are old enough, they are sterilized.
Overpopulation, mostly in cats, is a big problem, that’s why our animals are sterilized before leaving the shelter. Animals that are too young are to be sterilized by their adopters and refund is given.
We try to educate the population to be responsible in caring for their animals. Animals are not disposable and need a lot of care. We also try to match adopters with the right animal for them.
We have no government funding and rely on the generosity of our area’s population.
