The Putnam Land Conservancy, Inc. (PLC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving land and water for people and wildlife. PLC is focused on establishing wildlife corridors to protect at-risk species and their habitat, natural resources, and outdoor recreation in Putnam County and surrounding areas in North Florida.

The Land Acquisition Program is at the forefront of PLC’s mission to protect Florida’s unique ecosystems and wildlife. Through strategic conservation efforts, PLC acquires and preserves sensitive natural lands with rare species, high quality habitat, and precious agricultural and natural resources. Thanks to the help of our supporters and eco-minded landowners, PLC has facilitated the conservation of over 12,927 acres throughout North Florida.

PLC targets lands for acquisition within the Florida Wildlife Corridor, a statewide initiative to create a network of 18 million acres of conservation lands to safeguard Florida’s land, water, and wildlife. Conservation lands are acquired either directly by PLC or through State Land Acquisition Programs. Through this collaborative effort with landowners and partners, PLC is able to provide education on the importance of wise and ethical stewardship of the landscape and the habitat it provides for native biological diversity.
