We are a charity based in Geelong who focus on cat desexing.   Our role is in preventing lives that end up in pounds on death row, in shelters & rescue needing homes or growing up on the street living a wild street life facing dangers no cat should face.   We provide low cost and free desexing to cats in our community.   Every year thousands & thousands of kittens are born, thousands of them die and thousands end up in shelters so many are put into homes without desexing.   Our program has another feature where we take litters of kittens then desex their mum for free.  All the kittens are desexed at the appropriate time, vaccinated, microchipped & parasite treated BEFORE going to homes.  The only way to stop all the breeding is to provide desexing assistance.   Reducing intake numbers at pounds is vital to saving lives.   Prevention is the kindest and most effective cat control we have.  It must be offered free to those who cannot afford it as the cost of the consequences of not providing this service impacts all animal welfare systems.   This is the best place to start if you wish to help.   You do not need to love cats to understand the importance of this program.  Reducing numbers protects our environments and the wildlife living in them also.
