OMHST (Otago Mental Health Support Trust) is a grassroots organisation led by individuals with firsthand experience in mental distress and addiction. Our mission is to combat stigma and isolation, significant barriers to recovery. Through peer support and advocacy, we enhance understanding, reduce distress, and strengthen community ties.For over 35 years, OMHST has been deeply rooted in the Otago community. We offer personalised one-on-one support, group sessions, community and individual education, and advocacy for systemic change. We prioritise equitable and culturally sensitive services for marginalised groups, and amplify the voices of those with lived experiences, driving systemic improvements and fostering community-driven change.
