MFBCS is a registered Canadian charity that advances food security, mental health, youth development, and community integration for vulnerable populations, including refugees, newcomers, and low-income families. Since 2010, MFBCS has grown from a food bank too an organization offering support, providing bi-weekly food hampers, emergency supplies, daily meals, senior support, and holistic ASPIRE case management and counselling services to over 20,000 vulnerable families. Its food programs emphasize culturally appropriate, nutritious foods and culturally familiar items, recognizing that access to suitable food is essential for both physical and mental well-being. MFBCS also provides trauma-informed counselling and life-skills programming in multiple languages, addressing barriers related to language, culture, stigma, and lack of system knowledge.
