Autism Dog Services (ADS) is a charitable organization focused on providing highly trained service dogs to assist individuals with autism and other related developmental disorders living in most parts of Southwestern Ontario with our home base located in Brantford Ontario. Since 2007, the mission of our organization is to foster the integration of individuals with autism by training, placing and supporting service dogs that offer safety, companionship and independence. The purpose of our dogs is to equip individuals with autism with tools that can provide endless opportunities for this at-risk population. Social exclusion in the community and schools often creates isolation and lack of opportunity to safely integrate with society. A family with a service dog trained specifically to work with a youth with autism grants them opportunities to safely participate in school and community activities, have community friends and integrate with society. The service dogs become an integral part of the family and aid in healthy family dynamics, youth development and continuous growth allowing extensive opportunities to limit risk and seamlessly connect and integrate with society.

The pillar that we pride ourselves on is providing a “lasting improvement in the quality of life” of marginalized individuals In our case it is children and youth with autism. The ripple affect of improving the life of an individual with autism lends to a general improvement in its larger community that includes not only a child, but youth, adults and families as well. Our bottom line is in providing an integral community service.
