At Music for the Soul, we create songs and related multi-media resources to help people experiencing deep emotional pain. Our passion is seeing people healed and set free from the wounds of the past. That’s why we sing about the things that are hard to talk about.

How does it work?

God designed our brains so that language is processed in the left hemisphere. Melody is processed in the right. So, when one hears a song, the whole brain is engaged.  Think mind and heart!  But here’s the thing. Trauma is also processed primarily in the right side of the brain. So, this means a song speaks directly to the deepest hurts people carry.

Also, music engages the limbic system of the brain where it is processed at the speed of light. Many therapists tell us that our songs accomplish in minutes what would take weeks or months of traditional talk therapy to achieve. And because melody and rhythm are memory devices, people remember the healing message they hear in a song much better than if it is read or simply spoken.

Our process involves researching a particular topic by working with a team of professional Christian counselors and those living in recovery. Once the songs are written we have the content vetted by those same people. Once we get consensus that songs are “right,” then we record working with world class Christian singers, musicians, and engineers to create the music.

Music for the Soul has been endorsed by Christian therapists, pastors and ministry leaders and been called a “treasury of healing.” Responses from those using the songs confirm that our resources are making life changing differences.
