Watson has two programs: Shelter Care and Healthy Foundations. Our Shelter Care program started in 1977 in Janice Watson's home. Taking in children infant to age 14 who have experienced trauma, abandonment, abuse, neglect or a family crisis. We care for 24 children in our homes, receiving them 24 hours a day. Working with Tribal Social Services and Child and Family Services. In our shelters, we work very hard to give the children the support and structure they need but also the chance to just "be a kid". We provide them with all their needs from clothing, school supplies, toys, birthday parties, fun activities to taking them to all medical providers and school. Our Healthy Foundations program works with families prenatally who are experiencing life challenges and we help them to get the help they need to create a healthy bond with their baby. We work with the families until the baby's 3rd to 5th birthday. This way supporting them through all the stages of their baby's beginning.
