About M&M's Furever Furbabies

M&M’s Furever Furbabies is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit animal charity and sanctuary devoted to the well-being and prevention of cruelty to animals. We are an all-breeds and special needs companion animal rescue based in North Carolina, committed to giving a second chance to homeless, stray, abused, neglected, and at-risk animals—especially those facing euthanasia due to overcrowded shelters.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, while also serving as a safe haven for those who may be harder to adopt due to age, disability, or behavioral challenges. We believe every animal deserves love, care, and a furever home—regardless of their background or condition.

In addition to rescue and sanctuary efforts, M&M’s Furever Furbabies is deeply rooted in community outreach. Our youth and community programs are designed to educate and empower both current and future pet owners, with a focus on responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and compassion. We are especially dedicated to engaging with troubled or at-risk youth, giving them opportunities to learn and grow through positive, hands-on experiences with animals.

A core part of our advocacy is spreading awareness about the urgent need for spay and neuter, especially in North Carolina—where there is currently no mandated spay/neuter law. The state’s overwhelming pet overpopulation is a crisis fueled by unregulated backyard breeding and a lack of education about animal welfare. As a result, thousands of animals are surrendered or abandoned each year, leading to high euthanasia rates across shelters in the South.
