Little Treasures Farm, Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) horse rescue out of Chaplin, CT. Our purpose is  to provide safety, shelter, care, and love to injured, neglected, and unwanted horses. We began our rescue efforts in October of 2022 when one of our founders, Haley Scanlon, pulled our first two horses (Gunsligners Glory and Harley Davidson) out of a bail out in NY. If it weren’t for us saving them, they would have been sent to slaughter in Mexico. Their lives were forever changed, Glory is now a part of the lesson program where she has claimed a few children of her own that love her to pieces, and Harley, due to her injuries (a fused knee) is unable to be ridden but has found her niche as a therapy horse for an autistic student named Ben. In February our other founder, Jane Scanlon, was approached by the same bailout in NY asking if she could take on 7 wild mustangs also at risk of going to Mexico. After some prayer and encouragement from others Jane willingly said yes. In February 2023 we received the “7 mustangs” but in reality, one was actually a feral pony. These 7 horses came from a property in NY where they were pulled from by state animal control officials due to accusations of neglect and over driving. These horses came off the trailer with fear and pain in their eyes. Over the past year we have slowly been training them. So far, we have been able to save 13 total animals (11 horses and 2 donkeys).
