Thousands of donkeys need rescue, and there are few resources available for them. Little Longears Miniature Donkey Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and safe sanctuary of abused, neglected or otherwise unwanted donkeys. We also provide a safe haven for owners to surrender their donkeys in the event they are no longer able to care for them. After veterinary, farrier, psychological and training needs are met, our goal is to place adoptable donkeys into permanent, loving homes as appropriate, or to provide permanent sanctuary as needed. We’ve rescued almost 200 donkeys in the last 6 years, and currently care for over 60 donkeys - constrained only by the size of our small farm, 15 acres. We recently purchased a 99 acre property and will be able to TRIPLE the number of donkeys we save! The new property is perfect - except that it lacks any appropriate facilities! We need help funding our new farm: infrastructure such as electricity & water; barns; fencing; dry-lots; paddocks; and an enrichment arena. We will be able to help so many more donkeys get healthy and either find forever homes or remain safely in sanctuary for the rest of their lives.
