The Humane Society of Elmore County is the only Open-Admission Shelter for Elmore County Alabama taking in 4200 animals/year.  We accept strays, owner surrenders and from Animal Control from our County.  On any given day we are caring for 250+ animals in our Shelter and foster homes.  On average we take in 13 animals every single day we are open (Mon-Sat) with days of 25-30+ intake sadly far too common.  We are there for the nice ones, the vicious ones, the sick and injured needing our help, old and young.  with the support of our community we work diligently saving lives and work to find responsible and caring homes for as many as we can.  YOUR support can truly make a positive difference in the life of a pet in need.
