Founded in the 1980s, Paws and Claws is a non-profit, no kill, dog and cat rescue organisation that runs under the auspices of The Homeless Animal Society and Boarding Kennels Incorporated. The organisation rescues and rehomes neglected and homeless dogs and cats in the Douglas Shire Region. The organisation is about to open its new shelter after 16 years of fundraising and still requires assistance to fit it out and continue its work rescuing animals.
