The Institute aims to make meaningful arts mentorship experiences accessible to students from all backgrounds–most especially young people of color and those from economically challenged circumstances. All of the Institute’s programs are provided free of charge. For 35 years, the Institute has brought young, aspiring musicians together with renowned jazz artists and educators through its acclaimed college program at UCLA; international jazz competition; and thousands of instrumental and vocal training sessions, master classes and other jazz education programs. The Institute is also the lead nonprofit partner working with the UN and UNESCO to plan and promote the annual celebration of International Jazz Day on April 30, highlighting jazz and its message of tolerance, unity and peace. Support the Institute and help make a difference in the lives of young people across the United States and around the world through inspiring music education programming, while securing the future of America’s greatest cultural gift to the world.
