help2read is a UK based charity raising funds to deliver literacy programmes to children in schools in South African's townships.  We have been tackling the literacy crisis there for 17 years through our volunteer programmes, our Literacy Tutor programmes and now our Holiday Reading Clubs.  There is a literacy crisis in South Africa that is preventing young people from learning; this is turn means that they cannot get jobs that will help them lift themselves and their families out of poverty.  help2read is providing that oppotuntiy.
