Hedgehog rescue Bristol and South Gloucestershire Cover Photo

Hedgehog Rescue was established in 1999 after i finished my National Diploma in Animal Management. I run this from my back garden at home in a 20 x 10 ft shed. From small beginnings of 12 intakes, last year we took in 528. We take in college and university students who are studying animal, environment and conservation courses. People who are not ready to return to work but need that in-between stage to gain their confidence and self esteem. They gain new skills and helps them to become more independent.

Our aim is to rescue sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs, Relieve their pain and suffering, treat, rehabilitate them and release them back into the wild.

Everyone who helps at the rescue does so voluntarily, whether at the hospital, running  a stall or giving talks.

We receive no Government funding and rely on donations from kind hearted people and the occasional grant. During Covid we were unable to raise funds doing talks or stalls etc.
