We are the Greyhound Awareness League (GAL), and we’ve been rescuing and rehoming sighthounds for over 25 years. We are passionate about supporting and advocating for the needs of ex-working, ex-racing and abandoned lurchers, greyhounds, and sighthounds. We are entirely volunteer run, so our enthusiastic team of hound-loving helpers balance everything from vet appointments and behavioural issues, to fundraising, shop orders, events, and accounting. Like most animal rescue charities, GAL relies upon the generosity of the public to continue its work. GAL does not employ any staff. Therefore, every penny contributed to our charity is re-invested into our efforts to rescue and rehome greyhounds and lurchers throughout Scotland.
