Future Hope is a charitable non-profit organization committed to seeing individuals rebuild their lives in the transition from incarceration, release, and homelessness to being full members of society. It is a sad truth that within just two years of release, persons leaving a Canadian prison have a large chance of reoffending. Not only is this dire for the individual’s chance at a productive, independent life, it ultimately means less safe communities, and higher costs for taxpayers. As a registered charity, we work with offenders before and after their release to give them the support they need to become responsible, contributing members of the community. This stop cycles of violence, recidivism, and the many costs associated with policing, court and victim damages. Halting recidivism and stopping homelessness is a win-win for both the ex-offender and our communities, and Future Hope has been successfully doing this for over 20 years.
