BullyingCanada is a mental health service that provides support to bullied youth in Canada. It was founded in 2006 by two individuals who were victims of extreme bullying themselves. The organization works with the victims, their parents, and local supports to put an end to bullying and aid in their healing process. BullyingCanada's services can last from a few days to a year, depending on the situation. The need for BullyingCanada is significant, as 47% of Canadian parents reports having a child who has been a victim of bullying. Cyberbullying has made bullying more pervasive and complex, leading to detrimental effects on the mental health of youth. Bullied children often experience physical and psychological scars, such as stomach aches, headaches, panic attacks, and nightmares. They may also struggle academically and develop behavioral issues. Bullies who are not stopped are more likely to engage in criminal behavior as adults. BullyingCanada's 24/7 Lifeline received over 2.9 million calls in 2023 (an increase of half a million compared to 2022), showing the increasing demand for help. Volunteer responders and professional counselors work together to communicate with bullied youth and resolve bullying situations. Bullying prevention education is also provided through workshops in schools and community centers. The organization's website offers educational resources on bullying in multiple languages and received over 596 million visits in 2023. All of BullyingCanada's services are free thanks to donations and grants.
