About us
Friends of the Rouge engages Detroit Area residents to restore the Rouge River - one of the most polluted Rivers in the country. Founded in 1986, caring people like you participate in hands-on Rouge River learning and action to plant trees, build new rain gardens, participate in riverside science, remove invasive species, build land & water trails, kayak and canoe the river, and monitor critters like fish, bugs, and frogs. All to reduce flooding, clean the air, reduce water pollution, connect with nature, and create a healthy, vibrant Rouge River!
