Freedom Ride Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue founded in 2017. We rescue all breeds of dogs, and sometimes cats, from high-kill shelters in California. We also take in owner-surrendered dogs and in 2025, owner surrenders comprised a significant number of our intakes, and we help both senior dogs and dogs with medical or behavioral challenges. We are a 100% volunteer-driven organization. In 2024, we completed roughly 190 adoptions of both dogs and cats, and are on track in 2025 do about 170 adoptions. Since our inception, we have adopted dogs and cats to homes in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, Minnesota, Texas, New York and Canada. We are a small team, with a handful of regular fosters, but we work hard to match up dogs with people so that it's a success story for everyone.
