FND Australia Support Services is the only charity representing those with Functional Neurological Disorder [FND] in Australia.

FND is a poorly understood and debilitating neurological condition. People experience a wide range of neurological problems, including paralysis, gait disorder, seizures, myoclonic jerks, dystonia, sensory processing problems, sensory disturbances, impaired speech and swallowing and bowel and bladder dysfunction.

FND research, knowledge and awareness has lagged behind other neurological conditions, and this has had flow on effects to people's ability to access appropriate care.

The charity offers a range of support services for individuals with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in Australia, including peer support, education, information and awareness. A key role of the charity is Advocacy and Education for patients, family and clinicians.

The charity is involved in FND Awareness, trains clinicians, University students and supports University student placement, to upskill the next generation of health professionals in the latest FND information.
