The mission of Fighting Chance Rescue is to rescue, provide treatment and care, and to prevent the neglect and abuse of horses through education, investigation and rescue operations. We offer sanctuary for slaughter-bound, abused and neglected horses. We advocate for their welfare and enhance the human-animal bond. We are one of the only equine rescues serving South Eastern Ohio. Thanks to your generosity FCR has rescued over > 300 horses from slaughter and abuse since it was founded. At FCR we take in even the elderly, and the very ill and neglected horses. Read more about the horses we could not save. In 2018 FCR created a Critical Care facility for very ill and fragile horses in our former hay storage area. It has a stall and hoist. In 2019 FCR rescued 43 horses, built a new hay storage building and started a senior sanctuary program. In 2020 FCR rescued 72 horses and expanded our facility by adding an extention to our existing barn. This provides space for our critical care facility as well as in an indoor rehab area. We have also improved electrical service and upgraded fencing. In 2021 FCR is again focusing on financial support for our Senior Sanctuary and much needed facility improvements.
