Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization and registered charity that helps abandoned cats and kittens and educates people about the humane treatment of pets. We rescue cats and kittens found on the streets and provide them with necessary veterinary care such as spay/neuter surgeries, deworming, identification, vaccination, and any rehabilitation necessary for adoption into loving homes. While in our care, they are placed in loving foster homes, who assist in assuring they will integrate into furever homes by providing necessary care, attention, and love cats needs. We also trap, neuter/spay, and return feral cats back into colonies, followed by long-term care and feeding by dedicated volunteers. Finally, we feel strongly that education is the key to success in addressing the severe plight of cat overpopulation in our city. We educate the public on the importance of sterilization, responsible pet care, and the benefits of well-maintained community cat colonies. As a non-profit, we rely on donations and grants to continue our day to day operations. As the increase in demand to assist the cat population rises, we have observed a decrease in such funds. In order to continue the work we do, including assisting the public with their financial strain through events such as Keeping Felines with Families, where we handed out food and litter to cat owners, we urgently request the support of the public to assist us.
