Myeloma is a treatable but incurable blood cancer. Myeloma UK exists to provide information and support to the 24,000 people in the UK living with myeloma, and to fund medical research to help patients today and future generations. Our continued goal for 2023 is to help people affected by myeloma and related conditions to live longer, with a better quality of life. We know that the later the diagnosis, the worse a patient’s prognosis, and living with myeloma can place a huge physical and emotional strain on those it affects. At Myeloma UK it is our goal to give every person with myeloma an empowered present and a hopeful future. Our team supports patients, their carers, families, and friends through a range of services providing clinical information and practical and emotional support. Our research programme is focused on understanding how pre-cancerous conditions transform into myeloma and finding new treatments to help people live longer and better with myeloma - with a cure as our ultimate goal. Myeloma can be difficult for healthcare professionals to recognise and diagnose. We work with them to ensure patients will get diagnosed as early as possible and receive the best treatment and care.
