The ECFF is a local foundation formed in 2015 to operate swimming pool facilities for use by the entire community. We provide programs for swimming lessons, aquacize, fitness swimming, swim teams, and all kinds of activites that need a supervised, well-maintained, competition-worthy swimming facility. We presently operate three facilities, the Bernie R. Lefebvre Aquatic Center, and indoor, 25yard 6-lane pool in Fort Walton Beach; the Taj Renee Community Aquatic Center, in Destin, which includes two outdoor pools, a 8-lane, 25-yard pool and a family pool with a slide; our third facility is the Arc Pool in Ft. Walton Beach, which is a specially-developed facility for handicapped individuals that is all shallow, includes a long wheelchair ramp, and handicap lift chair.

Patrons do pay fees to participate, but we keep fees very reasonably-priced in order to be available to all members of our community, including seniors on fixed incomes. We have a special fund to provide financial aid to cover swim lessons for needy families. Our pools provide a place for local athletes to learn, practice, train and compete in the sport of swimming. Triathletes, fitness enthusiasts, military members, and persons with limited mobility all utilize our pools to enhance their fitness levels and quality of life.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, we also accept donations and grants of all sizes from supportive persons, organizations, and businesses to help us offset the costs of operating the aquatic facilities. Our only paid employees are lifeguards and swim instructors. ECFF executive leadership is all volunteers.
