The Edmonton Social Planning Council (ESPC) has been tackling poverty and social issues since 1940. We research, analyze data, and share insights to shape policies that create a more just and inclusive Edmonton.

We raise awareness through multiple annual publications and reports responding to policy or community changes, advocate for change at all levels from your block, to your community, and up to various levels of government, and work with other organizations to make a real impact. 

From publishing reports to leading community discussions, our goal is to turn knowledge into action and provide the latest research and data to guide the action. Our changing community and the complexities of poverty requires that we keep our reach and interests broad. Lately, we have been looking into housing and homelessness, food security, immigration, families and youth, Indigenous and intercultural relationships, income security and support programs, and economic stability and living wages.
