About us
The Down Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH) was founded in 1974 when there was very little information about Down syndrome and little to no support for family members. In response, a group of caring mothers decided that Houston needed an organization to support families with children with Down syndrome.
DSAH programs and services benefit individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including those living with Down syndrome, families, caregivers, and the Greater Houston community. The organization sponsors no-cost education, information, and outreach programs, along with special events that serve to educate, enhance, and empower the lives of those touched by Down syndrome.
