Diabetes in all its forms is the most challenging condition of this century. Every 5 minutes someone in Australia is diagnosed with diabetes. This is equivalent to filling the MCG every year! There have been some outstanding discoveries and life living with diabetes has improved considerably but there is still much to learn if we are to prevent and reverse diabetes. And whilst the treatments and management systems help people live long and healthy lives, the daily grind, continuous juggling and psychological impact of living with diabetes can be overwhelming. We must continue to fund research so that we can find ways to predict and prevent diabetes, and find a cure.
