At the core of our work is rescue, removing horses from situations of neglect, abuse, abandonment, or risk and getting them to our ranch or a foster home. We immediately tend to any medical needs and begin to assess behavior and personality to create a training and rehoming plan for each horse. Our volunteers are a critical component in this process, they help with everything from care to fostering, they help us successfully prepare horses for their new lives. We provide community education on horse care, safety, and the risk of horses being transported outside the US for slaughter. Since its founding, Cowgirl Spirit as an organization has rescued over 70 horses and had the privilege of educating tens of thousands of citizens in person and online. Our rescue efforts are staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donations. We are a registered 501(c) 3 so your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and we count on the generosity of our horse loving community to help us continue the work we do.
